It’s been 10 years since Yamaha released its Aventage AV receivers and from next month, its next-generation flagship series of integrated AV receivers will become available.

The RX-A8A, RX-A6A and RX-A4A – offering 11ch, 9ch and 7ch respectively – join the recently released RX- A2A as part of the all-new Aventage lineup.

Designed to support the latest trends and specifications for home entertainment, all three models offer seven HDMI 2.1 inputs supporting 8K60/4K120. HDMI 2.1 provides faster and smoother entertainment and gameplay with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rates (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Quick Media Switching (QMS).

All models support immersive 3D audio with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X enabled by the Qualcomm QCS407 smart audio platform, which provides powerful quad-core audio processing for superior sound quality.

All inputs support Dolby Vision and in addition to DTS:X and Dolby Atmos, the line-up offers Dolby Atmos with Height Virtualisation simulating the overhead sound experience for a 360-degree sound field. The top two models also support Auro-3D for even more immersive audio experiences.

All models feature Surround:AI, a proprietary Yamaha technology that claims to be the only artificial intelligence (AI) found in an AV receiver. It analyses the DSP parametres and optimises each sound element, such as dialogue, background music and sound effects, in real time.

Each receiver comes equipped with Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimiser R.S.C Multi-Point Measurement, Precision EQ and new Low Frequency mode. This technology detects speaker connections, measures the distance from them to multiple listening positions and automatically optimises speaker settings such as volume balance and acoustic parametres.

The line-up features a new look with bold centre volume knob, new high-resolution LCD display, rotary jog dial and touch-sensitive buttons. The signature Aventage 5th leg provides stability against vibrations and the Anti-Resonance technology wedge has been further analysed and developed for more efficient dispersion of chassis vibration.

There has also been upgrades to the internal circuit design, mechanical structure and audio parts including symmetrical amplifier layout for optimised signal paths, improving sound clarity while reducing signal noise and cross-channel interference.

The transformer is further mechanically isolated from the amplifier stages with a separate mounting bracket for greater vibration reduction. Tonal balance through high-quality parts, including premier SABRE DACs from ESS Technology for extraordinary signal-to-noise ratio and up to 120 dB dynamic range for pro-quality audio.

A high slew rate amplifier more than doubles the performance of the previous generation. This newly designed circuit achieves a high slew rate and stable signal transmission, allowing it to respond to rapid changes of input level with precision and accuracy.

All new Aventage models offer the entire suite of MusicCast capabilities and app control, including Wi-Fi, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, built-in music streaming services, multi-room audio and voice control via Alexa, Google and Siri-enabled devices.

Built-in streaming services include Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify and Tidal, plus thousands of internet radio stations. Full two-way control is available via software integration drivers that seamlessly connect the new Aventage models, and other Yamaha home audio products.
