While Kleenmaid’s former directors have been in court facing charges of fraud, the brand name has popped up again on the Current radar for a very different reason – it will be relaunching in the Australian market next week.

The company has created a “Guess the Brand” promotion, offering VIP tickets to a World Premier Cocktail Party event to launch the brand. The event will be attended by chef David Bitton, and will take place next Wednesday at Kleenmaid's showroom in Alexandria, Sydney.

In December 2009 (8 months after the original Kleenmaid went into administration) the brand name was bought by Compass Capital Partners, which is run by CEO Danny Hamilton, who intends to revitalise the Kleenmaid name.

According to the Kleenmaid's mission statement, “Compass Capital Partners acquired the Kleenmaid brand and spent millions of dollars and almost 2 years creating the ‘Next Generation’ Kleenmaid appliance collection.

“Since 1984, Exceeding Expectations has been the driving force of the combined worldwide network of designers and engineers who manufacture Kleenmaid appliances," the statement reads. "Today our own technical team—with more than 35 years experience—demand excellence in every product bearing the Kleenmaid name.

“The Kleenmaid appliance Range is founded on one premise—always create the world’s finest appliances—because Kleenmaid’s customers have come to expect it."

According to information on the company website, Kleenmaid currently produces ovens, cooktops and rangehoods, with laundry appliances, dishwashers and sinks and taps "coming soon".
