Commitment to built-in cooking.

Samsung Electronics raised a few European eyebrows during its debut at EuroCucina 2018.

Hosting one of the largest stands at the exhibition, Samsung almost single-handedly saw the biennial EuroCucina event to double in size with an extensive product portfolio led by the Dual Cook Flex Oven demonstrating the long-term commitment of the Korean brand to the built-in cooking category.

“Samsung was pleased to attend EuroCucina for the first time,” a spokesperson for Samsung Electronics Europe told Appliance Retailer.

“The presence at EuroCucina showcases exactly how Samsung’s innovations in design and technology bring kitchens to life for consumers in Europe. In particular, with a strong emphasis on inspiring new trends, and new smart products and technologies, EuroCucina is the perfect venue for Samsung to debut its new Dual Cook Flex,” the spokesperson said.

EuroCucina represented the launch of the Dual Cook Flex oven in Europe with its innovative ‘Flexible Door’ designed to provide independent access to the upper oven compartment without losing heat and compromising cooking performance in the lower chamber. The upper and lower compartments can be used as one bigger compartment for large dishes by removing the divider.

“Dual Cook Flex can set two different temperatures and times for each compartment to achieve the best taste possible during simultaneous cooking,” the spokesperson said.

“The Dual Cook Flex also prevents odour mixing between chambers, ensuring optimal cooking performance. Enabling consumers to use the upper compartment only, the Dual Cook Flex also enhances energy efficiency by cutting down preheating time and overall energy usage. Dual Cook Flex offers a range of smart features for optimised cooking.

“For example, consumers can conveniently start preheating the oven and remotely monitor and control cooking conditions while on the go via the SmartThings app. Also, the Cooking Guide recommends the best cooking mode, temperature, and cooking time based on the ingredients and type of food being made.”

Samsung also demonstrated how IoT products for the home work together.

“Samsung plans to maximise its smart/IoT leadership by providing customised intelligent solutions. Visitors will be able to experience Samsung’s unique home IoT technologies through Family Hub and its smart built-in offerings,” the spokesperson said.

Samsung demonstrated the smart connectivity of the Dual Cook Flex oven and the latest generation of the Family Hub refrigerator integrated with SmartThings. Also featured on the Samsung stand were the WaterWall dishwasher and Virtual Flame cooktop as well as Twin Cooling Plus refrigeration technology. A dedicated area was devoted to Samsung’s black stainless-steel built-in products and the super-premium Dacor brand Modernist collection.
