Here in UnderCurrent HQ, there’s nothing we love more than made up words. And in that respect, Sharp has come out with a wonderfully cromulent series of advertisements to promote its new range of Aquos 70-inch LCD TVs.

The advertising spots began airing last week on free-to-air and subscription television in metro and regional areas, and are set to run until the end of July. Sharp will then go on the promo offensive with a campaign across outdoor, bus and TV positioning through July and August, which will culminate in the launch of the brand’s premium premium 80-inch 3D Quattron LCD TV in August.

Sharp is also calling on consumers to invent their own ridiculous word that adequately describes the magnitude of the 70-inch screen size, for the opportunity to win one of the new Aquos televisions.

While the words Spectacularge, Viewmongous and Magnormous are already taken, we suggest that the new panels will at least have great Viewing Gargantuangles.
