Laser Corporation has announced the appointment of Kerry Mancer as the company’s new country manager for New Zealand. The consumer electronics, IT and audio visual company – which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year – made the announcement this week, as it looks to restructure its NZ business.

In the role, Mancer will be responsible for “managing and overseeing all aspects of the business in the region” and “directing [Laser’s] new strategy in the New Zealand market” according to a statement from the company.

“We welcome Kerry back to the role as country manager of Laser New Zealand and look forward to the progression of the New Zealand business under his leadership,” said the managing director of Laser Corporation, Chris Lau.

“Kerry’s excellent understanding of the industry combined with his knowledge of the Laser business will strengthen our New Zealand operations and contribute to Laser’s overall growth strategy.”

Mancer has previously worked in a number of sales and business development roles, including with brands such as Philips, Toshiba, Pioneer, Canon and The PC Company.

“With an extensive background in sales and business development, Kerry’s focus will differ to Australia’s approach and will focus on driving promotional opportunities around key selling periods.”

Speaking about his new position, Mancer said he was eager to take the company to new heights in New Zealand.

“I am happy to be back at Laser to lead the company’s strategic direction in New Zealand,” said Mancer. “My role will be to identify key prospects with a more specialised approach in the New Zealand market, drive promotional strategies and activities particularly during high activity periods.

“I am eager to take on the challenges ahead and look forward to delivering successful outcomes for Laser New Zealand.”
