Panasonic has announced a raft of new appointments to its Consumer Electronics Group, with six changes to the company’s product marketing and sales teams across categories including digital imaging, air conditioning and power tools.

In digital imaging, Samantha Dawson has joined Panasonic as product marketing manager for camcorders, media and AV accessories, replacing Doug Campbell who has moved on to become product marketing manager for the Lumix sub-brand (as reported on Current.com.au). Dawson previously worked for SingTel Optus in a range of roles including corporate customer operations.

In the seasonal category, Hany Ibrahim has joined Panasonic as national VRF channel manager, air conditioning. Ibrahim brings with him experience from a range of management positions at companies including Toshiba, Daikin and Fujitsu, as well as AHI-Carrier, where he most recently worked as national VRF channel and marketing manager.

Set to take on a new role in the company’s retail-facing division, Phil Russell has also been promoted from the NSW sales team to work closely with one of Australia’s largest buying groups, as channel manager for Narta.

Finally, Mukesh Desai has been appointed product marketing manager for power tools, while Gregory Calnon has been promoted to national account executive, mass merchants.

Speaking about the changes in personnel was Richard Tassone, general manager, Consumer Electronics Group, Panasonic Australia.

“During the past 12 months Panasonic has significantly diversified its consumer electronics offering and now the current industry climate is showing signs of stability and growth in many areas,” he said.

”Panasonic is investing in key areas of its business taking advantage of these changing conditions. The recent appointments and promotions reflect this commitment and provide us with the skills and experience we need to drive further growth in the division.”
