“When we’re helping consumers pick the right product, it’s about gauging with them how often it gets used,” Weily said. “Some people might only load it up and use it once a week, but some people will use it daily.

“It also comes back to the quality of the machine they want and whether they want something that’s going to last them 5-to-10 years, or whether they’re prepared to spend that little extra to get something that’s going to last them 15 or 20 years.

“Somebody that says ‘we’ll only use it once a week’, they’re more likely to be spending between $500 and $800, whereas somebody that’s looking for a daily use product is generally probably prepared to spend that little bit extra for something that’s going to last and they’re going to get life out of.”

The feature includes all the latest news, information and technology in this rapidly changing space, and includes products from Smeg, Bosch, Gaggenau, Miele, Ilve and Fisher & Paykel.
