Appliances Online has introduced water and energy efficient product rows and an appliance industry first partnership with GUPPYFRIEND to coincide with the retailer’s participation in Green Friday.

Appliances Online was involved in Green Friday by providing customers with offers on high water and/or energy efficient appliances, as well as a free GUPPYFRIEND washing bag, with the purchase of an efficient washing machine, which helps prevent microplastic pollution from washing synthetic textiles.

Appliances Online general manager, James Bartlett said, “We were proud to participate in the first Green Friday event, as the only appliance retailer, and to launch our efficient product rows to highlight and educate our customers on the environmental benefits of choosing water and energy efficient appliances. Our efficient product rows will be an ongoing feature on the website and will include energy and/or water efficient washers, dryers, dishwashers, fridges and freezers.

“At Appliances Online, we take our responsibility to minimise the impact on people and the planet at every stage of our customer journey, seriously. When John Winning launched Appliances Online in 2005, he wanted to extend our truly legendary customer service proposition by offering the collection and recycling of appliances. Appliances Online is the only online appliance retailer in Australia to offer this service free of charge.”

Winning Group head of sustainable business and CSR, Alice Kuepper added: “Our commitment to sustainability sits at the core of our new mission to create the best experience in the world, for the world – for our people, our customers, our communities and the planet. We also listened to our customers, 86% of whom said they are interested in seeing more sustainable product options. Our efficient product rows will continue to help our customers identify energy and/or water efficient products.

“Appliance energy efficiency is one of the most important considerations for a customer when it comes to their opportunity to help reduce household carbon emissions as clothes washing, fridges, freezers, heating, cooling and dishwashers are big energy drawers. Water efficient appliances can help keep our clean water reserves at sustainable levels. In addition, brands associated with these products have been reviewed by our business on their modern slavery, carbon management and packaging initiatives, actions and goals which forms part of their qualification to appear in this row.”
