Arrives on Australian shores.

Samsung has launched the HW-K950 Dolby Atmos-enabled soundbar to the Australian market for an RRP of $1,999. It places and moves audio almost anywhere in the room, including overhead.

The new soundbar incorporates the latest Samsung audio technology for multi-dimensional sound for music, movies, TV shows and video games, thanks to Samsung’s Proprietary Surround Sound Expansion Plus.

Samsung vice president of consumer electronics, Carl Rose said, “The HW-K950 offers an immersive Dolby Atmos sound experience in the home, and will challenge what Australians expect from home entertainment. By pairing the HW-K950 with a Samsung SUHD TV and UBD-K8500 UHD Blu-ray player, Samsung is looking to set a new standard for the premium home cinema experience.”

“To ensure a premium audio experience, the HW-K950 was tuned at our state-of-the-art audio lab in Valencia, California, making it a soundbar for audiophiles,” Rose added.

The HW-K950 is Samsung’s first soundbar system to offer next-generation home theatre sound sporting 15 speakers, including four upward-firing Dolby Atmos enabled speakers and two rear wireless speakers.

At just 5.3cm high, the HW-K950’s slim and sleek design uses three forward-facing and two upwards-facing channels to produce a rich, full sound. The soundbar connects wirelessly to its paired subwoofer and rear speaker units, helping to remove the need for ceiling-fitted speakers to achieve moving audio overhead.
