Electrolux has reissued a recall on several faulty Dishlex dishwasher models due to problems with repair work that was previously conducted. The products were sold nationally by Electrolux Home Products.

The affected models include the Dishlex DX303SK and DX303WK with serial numbers in the range between 70700000 and 72400000. Both models were previously recalled in 2007 along with a number of other Electrolux and Westinghouse dishwashers (product recall number PRA 2007/9689).

Repair works for the Dishlex models were conducted over 2007 and 2008, and these models can be identified by a green ‘Inspected’ label adjacent to the rating plate. However, according to a recall statement on the ACCC product recalls website, “an electrical component used in the previous recall may overheat” and “if the defect occurs, the product may pose a fire hazard”.

“Consumers should only use the machine while in attendance or nearby to monitor it,” today’s recall notice read. “If any smoke or smell is noticed from the dishwasher, the machine should immediately be turned off at the control panel and power point and Electrolux contacted.”

Electrolux is using details from its service database to contact affected customers, but consumers who own one of the above dishwashers are advised to register and confirm their contact details and model serial number with Electrolux. Consumers can contact Electrolux on 1800 001 218 between 9am and 5pm (Eastern Standard Time) or details can be registered via email on recall@electrolux.com.au.

Recalled Dishlex dishwasher models can be identified by the serial number and "inspected" label on the right hand side of the door.
