SYDNEY: Nespresso has joined forces with Australian celebrities to raise money for breast cancer research with the release of a pink coloured Essenza coffee machine.
Limited edition hot pink Nespresso Eseenza machines will be autographed and sold to the highest bidder on eBay between 14 October and ending on Pink Ribbon Day on 23 October.
Successful bidders will receive the one-of-a-kind Nespresso Essenza machine signed by their favourite celebrity, accompanied by a selection of coffee capsules and the Nespresso Aeroccino milk frothing jug.
In addition to the auction, $30 from every machine sold through Nespresso during the month of October will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
A selection of the autographed machines will be on display at The Nespresso Boutique in Sydney during October.
A limited number of hot pink Nespresso Essenza machines, featuring De’Longhi co-branding, will be available for selected retailers.
“It’s fantastic to get involved in such a great cause,” said Sydney Swans captain, Barry Hall.
“We’re hoping this auction will generate lots of support for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, so they can continue their important work in this area.”
“I am very happy to be supporting such a great cause,” said Olympic pole vaulter, Tatiana Grigorieva.
“I have had some personal experience with the disease through a very close friend of mine, so it’s particularly close to my heart. I love good coffee too so decorating the Nespresso machine has been really fun – I hope someone gives it a great home,” she said.
Other celebrities involved in the promotion include actress Holly Brisley, TV presenters Sonia Kruger and Tania Zaetta, athlete Matt Shirvington, model Kate Fischer and members of The Footy Show.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Australian women, with one in every 11 being diagnosed with the disease by the age of 75.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is Australia’s only independent, not-for-profit community organisation supporting high quality research into the prevention, detection and treatment of the disease.
“We are delighted to be working with Nespresso on such an exciting fund-raising campaign, and we’re excited to have such a strong array of Australian celebrities throwing their support behind this initiative,” said National Breast Cancer Foundation general manager, Sue Murray.
