BSL Group has announced that Superstore buying manager, Simon Bright will take on the additional responsibility of Audio Visual (AV) buying following the departure of Gavin Carter to rival buying group, Narta.
Ironically, Simon Bright is himself a former Narta employee and he has been passed the additional responsibility after a recent restructure of BSL’s merchandise and marketing departments.
Despite Gavin Carter’s departure, BSL Group, CEO, Guy Houghton was optimistic about Simon Bright’s ability to manage the additional role.
“The timing of this appointment is ideal and fits with our restructuring plan to provide the best possible service for our franchisees to compete in the market,” he said.
“Simon boasts extensive AV buying experience and that additional responsibility fits well with his Superstore buying role.”
Bright was previously the AV buyer for WOW Sight & Sound before joining BSL, experience that will no doubt be valuable for the role.
He also previously worked for Rentlo & Thorn for nine years, holding the positions of branch manager and national operations manager, and was also a category manager at Narta.
Bright has been responsible for Superstore buying since joining BSL.
