SYDNEY: Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-TZ3 digital still camera has recently been presented with a prestigious TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) Award for Best Superzoom Digital Camera in Europe for 2007.
The Panasonic DMC-TZ3 was awarded for its high lens performance, which sees the camera able to zoom from 28mm wide angle to 280mm telephoto, while also featuring the dual optical image stabilisation technologies of MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser), which suppresses hand-shake, and Intelligent ISO Control for preventing motion blur.
“The recently released DMC-TZ3 is continuing the success of Panasonic’s ‘ultimate travel camera’ range,” said Panasonic Australia category marketing manager – mobile AV, Alistair Robins.
“With its 10x optical zoom, you can zoom in close to your subject, but the wide angle lens lets you capture the ‘full picture’ in any situation. Plus, Panasonic has redesigned this camera to fit all these features and a 3-inch LCD into a more compact and stylish body than its predecessor,” he said.
“With a 10x Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens equivalent to 28-280mm, the small Lumix DMC-TZ3 provides a new step forward in the battle against blur," said a TIPA spokesperson.
“Stabilisers can compensate for camera shake, but not for the movement of the subject in low light conditions. Combining the well-known Mega O.I.S. optical stabiliser with the new Intelligent ISO Control feature, Panasonic offers a world-first solution to capture sharp images in most lighting conditions.
“The camera’s image-processing Venus Engine III is able to detect the movements of the subject and, if necessary, it automatically raises the ISO sensitivity to let the shutter work at a faster speed.”
The DMC-TZ3 (RRP $769) is available now from consumer electronics retailers and photographic specialists.
