Fresh from unveiling its S-Logic range of Smart ovens and its Victoria range of upright cookers, Smeg is continuing its aggressive second half product rollout with the launch of its new outdoor kitchen barbecues.
Traditionally called a barbecue, the outdoor kitchen combines design-focused stylings with high-quality cooking outcomes to demand significantly higher average sales prices than what you might normally find at a Barbecues Galore.
“Smeg has used its indoor expertise to deliver perfectly controlled barbecue cooking in a sleek, beautifully designed built-in appliance crafted in high quality marine grade stainless steel,” said spokesperson.

Other brands focusing on outdoor cooking as a growth area include Fisher & Paykel with its phenomenal DCS range and Electrolux with its En:Tice freestanding barbecues.
“In two designs, the Smeg barbeque is one of the most powerful available with a total 67.5 megajoules per hour over five burners.
“Features include an interlocking grill system plus a hotplate while an integrated fat and oil collection system drains all oils and fats away from the cooking area into a reservoir at the side of the unit. This makes for easy collection of these unwanted fats plus healthier food and a sharp decline in any ‘flare ups’.”
Smeg Australia MD Andrew Cronin recently told Appliance Retailer magazine that Smeg would be promoting this and other cooking appliances throughout the second half of the year.
“Smeg has a huge second half planned,” he said. “We have new products launching in practically every category, particularly in the inbuilt ovens segment, and will be participating in major culinary and design events, partnering with some of the country’s best chefs and leading design houses.”
There are two versions of this barbecue to choose from: a hooded model (BIBQ1205AH, RRP $3,690)…
…and one with a sleek lid that doubles as a splashback (BIBQ1205AF, RRP $3,490).
