Two weeks after launching its broad consumer promotion to mark the start of the pre-Christmas selling period, Sony Australia today officially launched its Summer of Sony product and marketing program inside the renovated Members pavilion at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Head of public relations Laura Hunter introduced the various Sony branches that are combining for this season – Computer Entertainment, Pictures, Music, Consumer Electronics and Mobile – before a bizarre runway show by bikini-clad models was used highlight the latest range of Handy-cams, Cyber-shot cameras and bass-heavy speaker systems.
Following the media event used to drum up publicity and encourage brand messaging in popular technology websites and daily newspapers, Sony will be using the luxurious event space to host brand advocates and competition winners at a consumer event. Four-hundred (400) such Sony fans are expected to attend this party.
