Electrician discovers cause of broken console.
An electrician in Brazil found the remains of a dead snake that had fused with the internal circuits in two different places in a PlayStation 4 console, according to US media reports.
A bug report received by the electrician along with the job stated that the owner had noticed a “strong smell” coming from inside the console just after it stopped working.
He figured it was just a routine electrical issue and opened it up to check out the wiring.
Despite this case, PS4 sales hit 40 million units on Thursday, since its debut in November 2013.
“We are truly grateful for the enormous support from our fans and partners across the globe, which helped us achieve this significant milestone in such a short span of time,” Sony Interactive Entertainment global CEO, Andrew House said in a statement.
House said virtual reality experiences along with an expanded line-up of games will further drive momentum and accelerate the expansion of the PS4 platform and its business this fiscal year.
Sony will be one of the many exhibitors at the annual Electronic Entertainment Exposition in Los Angeles next month.
