Alongside its announcement of the rotating Sero TV, Samsung also unveiled its latest flagship QLED 8K TV – the Q950 – with an infinity screen that produces a screen to body ratio of 99% and measures just 15mm in width at its First Look Event in Las Vegas ahead of CES.
Samsung Electronics confirmed that the Q950 would become available in the Australian market by mid-2020 in three sizes: 65-, 75- and 85-inch.
The Q950 is equipped with an AI Quantum Processor 8K to upscale non-8K content and Adaptive Picture technology that optimises the screen based on ambient conditions and individual images.
The Q950 has speakers on every side of the display and sub woofers in the back, while introducing premium sound features including Q-Symphony, Object Tracking Sound+ (OTS+) and Active Voice Amplifier.
Q-Symphony pairs the audio from both the TV’s built-in speakers and the Q Series soundbar to create multi-dimensional sound. OTS+ uses AI-based software to match the movement of audio sound with the movement of objects on the screen. Active Voice Amplifier adjusts the volume of dialogue in response to sounds such as a vacuum cleaner or blender with real-time voice clarification, removing the need to adjust the volume of the TV.
