Smeg has announced the launch of a new range of Domino cooktops, designed to appeal to Australians who are keen to branch out in the kitchen and use a diverse range of cooking methods.

The range of 30 centimetre-wide cooktops features 7 models, including more traditional gas and ceramic hobs, as well as an induction cooktop, a Teppanyaki plate and a deep fryer. Each cooktop is manufactured in brushed stainless steel and features a low profile.

In addition, the domino cooktops have been designed to coordinate with Smeg’s existing range of cooking appliances, from both the Classic collection and the brand’s Linear range. Each cooktop also comes with interchangeable knobs to match these appliance ranges.

“Australians are exploring a more diverse range of cuisine and wanting to cook it at home, so a new collection of 30 centimetre hobs makes the customisation of any kitchen more affordable and far more practical,” said a Smeg spokesperson.

“This versatile range of cooktops enables users to introduce a new means of cooking or an additional source of fuel without having to remove existing appliances – or, if renovating, the homeowner can select the exact number of cooktops that will deliver the precise mix of culinary options to suit their taste.

“These compact hobs are also proving to be a preferred option for use in outdoor kitchens, due to their size and versatility, as well as for smaller kitchens and studio apartments,” the spokesperson said.

The range features a Ceramic Hob with nine power levels, two highlight cooking zones and a residual heat indicator, as well as a Single Burner Gas Hob and a Dual Burner Gas Hob with flame failure device. In addition, there is a Dual Zone Induction cooking surface that features nine power levels (with a power boost option) and a residual heat indicator.

Branching out from the more traditional options, Smeg has also included a Barbecue Plate with cast iron pan stands, a lava rock interior, 9 power levels and 1800 watts of power, as well as a stainless steel Teppanyaki Plate with two independent induction zones and five power levels with a quick start option.

Finally, the range includes the 3.6-litre capacity Deep Fryer with removable tank, 2200 watts of power, with a residual heat indicator and an overheating protection system.
