The Dorsett Retail Group purchased Retravision Western’s Electsales commercial business and its company owned Cannington store two days before joining the Narta group yesterday.
Dorsett Retail, owned by the Dorsett family, purchased the 25 year-old Electsales commercial business representing $30 million of annual turnover as well as the company-owned Retravision Cannington store on Monday of this week and was yesterday approved to join the Narta group as a member.
Dorsett Retail’s David Dorsett-Lynn was a director of Retravision Western and now has a combination of retail and commercial assets representing annual turnover worth approximately $80 million.
Dorsett Retail owns the Oconnor, Bunbury, Busselton and Margaret River Retravision stores and following yesterday’s announcement that the Retravision brand will be acquired by Narta from 1 April 2013, it is expected that these stores will continue to trade under the Retravision banner.
Retravision has agreed to allow Dorsett Retail to continue to use the Retravision brand until 31 March 2013.

Narta executive chairman, Kay Spencer, believes Dorsett Retail is a strategic addition to the buying group.
“Dorsett Retail, alongside Kambo’s, will provide Narta with two very strong anchor members in Western Australia and helps address weakness we have previously experienced in this market.”
According to Retravision Western chief executive officer, Paul Holt, the Electsales business is likely to move from its current location at Gould Street in Perth and relocate to the Cannington store to create further efficiencies.
“The strategic intent is for the two businesses to merge under one roof and maximise the opportunity of the 2,700 square metre footprint which can be used more extensively to drive a commercial and retail offer,” Holt said.
“This make the Cannington big box a more attractive business proposition with both businesses under the same roof.”
