Philips has unveiled the first product in its Jamie Oliver-endorsed appliance range at IFA today: an all-in-one-device (which can be paired with its own food prep appliance) known as the HomeCooker.

Fitting in neatly with the one-pot cooking trend, the HomeCooker features multiple layers, starting with a 3-litre metal pot at the base complete with an automatic stirring arm that mixes the food as it cooks. It also features a pasta/rice insert, and a steam basket and steam tray for cooking fish, vegetables and desserts.

The control panel at the base features temperature controls that can be set between 40 and 250 degrees, as well as a 0-99 minute timer with a keep warm function.

Designed to sit next to the HomeCooker is an add-on appliance called the Cutting Tower, a device with five cutting blades that can be used to slice, shred, grate and cut directly into the home cooker. The Cutting tower is available in black or white and is dishwasher safe, and will be available with a free Jamie Oliver cookbook with purchase.

Jamie Oliver himself was on the Philips stand to launch the appliance, but conveniently disappeared when it came time for the washing up.
