Panasonic has launched what it claims to be its smartest microwave yet, the NN-CS89L Convection Microwave Oven, for users to bake cakes, roast meat, grill steaks, steam fish and vegetables, or simply microwave a range of foods.

The all-in-one convection microwave combines the quick cooking of a microwave with the browning and crisping of a conventional oven, while combination cooking combines microwave and grill or convection functions to deliver speedy results including a roast chicken in just 40 minutes.

Panasonic’s Genius Sensor takes the guesswork out of cooking as it detects the humidity of food and automatically determines the cooking time. Pre-programmed menus enable users to simply select the desired Auto menu, set weight or time and the microwave will do the rest.

The Microwave function can be used for reheating and defrosting food with Panasonic’s inverter technology. The Grill feature has three pre-set power levels for toasting and browning dishes such as garlic bread, pizza and lamb chops. The NN-CS89L can also be used just like a traditional oven with the Convection function which allows users to bake or roast at precisely controlled temperatures between 30 degrees and 230 degrees Celsius, delivering a faster result.

Powerful steam retains the flavour and nutrients in the food for fresh vegetables and fish or steamed dumplings. An easily refilled water tank has two steam outlets for even dispersion throughout the oven for steam on both top and bottom levels.

The flatbed design eliminates the traditional microwave turntable to increase interior capacity to 31 litres, accommodating a wider range of cookware shapes and sizes. There is a rail for a second tray or wire rack. The modern, minimalist body features sleek stainless steel, a black glass door and touch panel for seamless integration into any kitchen design.

Panasonic Australia product marketing manager – microwaves, Tory Rooney said: “Panasonic has taken its 50 years of innovation in microwave technology and created the company’s smartest microwave yet. This model is sure to be the kitchen game-changer, combining the speed of microwave power with the capabilities of fan-forced oven and grill, and the healthy techniques of steaming.”

The new Panasonic NN-CS89L Convection Microwave is available for RRP $1,299 from leading consumer electronics retailers.

Panasonic is recognised as Australia’s number one brand for microwaves and received the 2020 Canstar Blue Award for Most Satisfied Customers in the category, receiving five stars for overall satisfaction, even heat distribution, cooking functions, ease of use and cleaning, plus appearance and design.
