With a warm winter just finished and a hotter than usual spring and summer around the corner, retailers are being advised to prepare for seasonal appliance sales early to ensure they’re ready to meet consumer needs.
According to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Australia is coming out of an unusually warm winter, with average temperatures across the country during June, July and August tracking above historical averages. July measured the third highest maximum temperatures on record while maximums in August were the second highest on record.
This warm weather is predicted to continue, with the majority of Australia expected to exceed long-term median minimum temperatures over the coming months.

Off the back of this warm weather, Fujitsu General national marketing manager, Marc Cheah, said the brand was expecting a big season for the air conditioning category.
“With an unseasonably warm winter, it is anticipated the temperatures will continue to rise as we welcome summer,” said Cheah.
“With the heat expected to continue, Fujitsu General believes retailers will experience increased foot traffic in the category, as consumers will look to avoid the harsh temperatures of summer, by selecting an air conditioner that will keep them comfortable all summer long.”
To this end, the brand has recently launched a new line-up of air conditioners for the Australian market. The KM reverse cycle and CM cooling only ranges each include five models, ranging in capacity from 2.5 to 7.1 kilowatts for the KM line-up and 2.1 to 5.0 kilowatts for the CM range. The hero products in both ranges also feature 5-star energy ratings.
“With the launch of the new KM and CM models, Fujitsu General has a solution that meets any consumer's needs,” said Cheah.
