Cooking appliance manufacturer Emilia has announced the arrival of a 60 centimetre fan-assisted gas oven to its range – the first of its kind to be produced by the brand. The built-in oven (model EMF61MVI) will be part of the new Emilia Modena range, which also includes a fan-forced electric oven.

According to David Gilmore, General Manager of Glem Gas Australia which owns the Emilia brand, the new gas oven was made with consumer needs and desires in mind.

“The efficiency and environmental benefits of cooking with gas have been widely documented,” said Gilmore. “People are choosing to switch to gas for environmental reasons but also because it is an easy, clean and quick way of cooking, the choice of many professional chefs.

“We were thrilled to see how well the new gas oven performed during testing. We can say, with confidence, that this oven steadily holds temperature within five degrees which solves a common frustration among home cooks,” he said.

“The fan also helps to achieve even heat distribution, eliminating cold spots and enabling baking on multiple shelves.”

Manufactured in the Glem Gas factory in Italy, the oven has been designed especially for Australia and is able to operate without an electrical connection. According to the company, “this is a rare feature on the Australian market and provides an efficient solution for users on solar generated power or in regions with regular blackouts".

The oven also features a 69-litre oven capacity with triple-glass insulated door, 60-minute timer, electronic ignition and closed door electric grilling, fast heat up, and a cooling system that helps to combat heat transfer to surrounding cabinetry in the kitchen.

The Emilia EMF61MVI 60 centimetre built in fan-assisted gas oven is available for RRP $1,299.
