Freshtel Holdings Limited, an Australian telephone technology company that develops and markets VoIP technology, has just announced that it will be selling its mobile VoIP application through iTunes for Apple iPhone users.

The CEO of Freshtel Holdings, Rhonda O’Donnel, commented that the company was keen to take advantage of the rapidly growing iPhone community.

“The iPhone has proved to be hugely successful in Australia and making our mobile application available on iPhone demonstrates the commitment that Freshtel has to continuing development of the Freshtel Mobilelink to make it available on the latest and most popular handsets,” she said.

“Now that the iPhone version of the Freshtel Mobilelink has been approved we will complete the expansion of our customer support facilities and network upgrades to cater for the expected significant growth in traffic.”

Consumers who use the Freshtel Mobilelink service can use their existing mobile phone number to call other Freshtel users free of charge.

The company stated that all other calls to mobile, landline and international numbers are charged at a cheaper rate than other mobile calls.

In addition to the Apple iPhone, Freshtel has commented that it is currently working on applications for Google Android and Blackberry platforms, which is set for release in the near future. As well as this the Mobilelink service is currently compatible with ten Nokia WiFi enabled handsets, like the N95, E65 and E51.
