SYDNEY, NSW: Fujitsu General has renewed its naming rights sponsorship of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series until the end of the 2011 season. The renewal will see Fujitsu also involved in the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Series in 2010.
It’s been a successful association for Fujitsu General, which first became the V8 Supercar Series naming rights sponsor in 2006.
“Fujitsu General is excited to remain as naming rights sponsor of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series for another two years,” said Fujitsu General (Aust.) Pty Limited deputy managing director, Philip Perham.
“The Series provides us with a great platform to promote our brand and our guests are always thrilled about spending a day at the races with us. For the drivers, the Series continues to provide an opportunity for the young and talented to hone their skills and a real chance to break into the main Championship Series.
“With the 10th anniversary next year, Fujitsu General is confident the 2010 and 2011 Series will be even bigger and better than previous years.”
Champions of the Fujitsu Series include current V8 Supercar Championship Series drivers Mark Winterbottom, Paul Dumbrell and Tony D’Alberto, while Fujitsu Series graduates include Lee Holdsworth, Michael Caruso, David Reynolds Jack Perkins, Mark McNally and Tim Slade.
“It’s great that Fujitsu, along with V8 Supercars, recognises the importance of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series — a fantastic breeding ground for our future V8 Supercar drivers,” said Tony Cochrane, V8 Supercar Australia executive chairman.
