SYDNEY, NSW: Samsung has launched a multi-million dollar advertising campaign to support its first-to-market 3D TV range.

Titled ‘A new dimension in TV is here’, the ads first aired on Sunday 25 April and will be seen across TV, print, outdoor, buses, cinema and digital.

“This campaign is aimed at ensuring the technology is understood and brought to life for everyone,” said marketing manager, consumer electronics, Samsung Electronics Australia, Tony Brown.

In addition to the advertising, Samsung’s broader campaign includes experiential, promotional, retail training, in-store and public relations.

Samsung has a particularly aggressive digital plan, which will see the company launch a dedicated YouTube channel, global Facebook campaign and local search engine optimisation strategy. A 3D microsite is also live at Samsung.com.au.

Samsung also plans to show off its new range to consumers, with representatives set to visit 35 shopping centres around Australia to demonstrate its 3D TVs.

The move mirrors the 3D displays starting to launch at Sony Centres around the country.

Current.com.au visited the flagship Sony Centre in Sydney over the weekend, and was impressed to see a 3D TV display packed of eager customers, with more lined up to catch a glimpse of 3D movies, gaming and sports.

Retailers are also set to benefit from Samsung’s new campaign, with a training program beginning in May that will cover 14 locations and help retailers take full advantage of 3D TV.

In a final push for consumers, Samsung has also announced that for a limited time every 3D TV purchase will come with a bonus pack including two sets of 3D glasses (RRP $99 – $149) and a 3D Blu-ray Disc of Monsters vs. Aliens.
