There are hundreds and thousands of appliances on show at the IFA trade show in Berlin this week, and one of the categories getting plenty of attention was coffee machines.

There were plenty of well-known brands showing off new models as well as some names and designs that haven’t been seen on our shores.

To celebrate all things coffee related, Current.com.au compiled this list of our favourite coffee machines (from the weird to the wonderful) on show at IFA.

As well as its famous U machine, Nespresso had this much larger Aguila model on display for more commercial purposes.

With its futuristic design, it’s no wonder the Tassimo machine from Bosch rhymes with Asimo (the name of the intelligent dancing robot created by Honda).

Sure, filter coffee isn’t really that popular in Australia, but we just loved this extension of the colourful kMix range.

WMF is more famous in Australia for its homewares, but this machine shows off the brand’s German design heritage.

In the portioned category, this is the new top-end machine in Philips’ Senseo range.

What could be better than a regular coffee machine? How about a see-through coffee machine! Jura shows off the technology inside one of its creations.

The less said about this Cosa machine, the better.

Another filter model, this Panasonic coffee maker forms part of a new breakfast range for the Japanese brand.

Minimalist or boring? Uncluttered or just ugly? You decide.

It’s no secret we love coloured appliances, so this row of De’Longhi PrimaDonna S machines was particularly appealing.
