SYDNEY: Canon Australia has announced its replacement for former consumer imaging products group (CIPG) assistant general manager – marketing, Stuart Poignand, with senior category manager Darren Ryan taking his spot.
Ryan will step into Poignand’s role, vacated after 22 years with Canon when he left 3 June, to handle marketing for the Ixus, PowerShot, Eos and Pixma products.
Prior to this new appointment, Ryan served in his category manager role for two years. He worked at IBM as global small business group marketing manager before arriving at Canon.
Canon consumer imaging products group senior general manager, Allan Corder, said he was “very pleased” to have made an internal appointment.
“Darren has been with Canon CIPG for the last two years as senior category manager and has been a driving force in improving integration between marketing and sales to better meet consumer needs and improve outcomes for resellers.”
Ryan said it was “a privilege to work with an iconic brand like Canon” and it was “a great feeling to be helping consumers achieve their creative goals”.
Ryan will begin his new role on 1 July.
