Dyson is strengthening its multi-functional purifier range with the release of the Big+Quiet Formaldehyde, equipped with upgraded filtration to deliver double the airflow and set a new standard in acoustics, alongside the Gen 1 Hot+Cool and Cool Purifiers with Dyson’s core filtration and airflow technology.

The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde uses cone aerodynamics to deliver 10-metre projection and introduces a CO2 sensor to promote a healthy and comfortable indoor environment

Alongside powerful projection, the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is engineered to operate quietly, producing 55.6 decibels of noise – making it Dyson’s quietest yet most powerful purifier, specifically engineered to purify spaces up to 100 square metres.

The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde represents a step-change in air purification with the development of a new energy-efficient, low-pressure air delivery system: cone aerodynamics, which uses the Coanda effect to merge two streams of air over a smooth surface, resulting in a jet of air that can be projected more than 10 metres with minimal noise. It delivers more than double the airflow of previous generation Dyson purifiers.

The sensation from seemingly randomised air movement has been scientifically proven to be more refreshing than a stationary jet of air – termed ‘thermal alliesthesia’. Dyson engineers used a three-axis ultrasonic anemometer across eight different locations to study the shape and frequency of gusts of wind to inform a unique software algorithm that controls a single jet of air to oscillate in an up-and-down motion that mimics natural breeze patterns.

The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde has improved filtration to capture harmful pollutants, featuring a whole-machine sealed filtration system, ensuring only clean air is projected back into the room and the pollutants stay in the filter. By scaling up all three filtration layers and improving HEPA filter life by up to five times, filtration performance is significantly enhanced.

The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde comes with integrated sensors monitoring particle, gas and formaldehyde levels, allowing owners to monitor indoor air quality through live results on the LCD screen and in the MyDyson app. The sensors are also embedded with a unique algorithm which cross-checks data every second, analysing air and automatically reacting to environmental changes to purify.

For the first time, the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde incorporates a CO2 sensor that accurately reports when CO2 exceeds recommended levels. Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde range in Bright Nickel / Satin Dark and Blue Satin Dark Blue / Gold is now available for RRP $1,499 and $1,599 respectively.

Dyson’s latest range of heating and cooling purifiers include the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Gen 1, Dyson Purifier Cool Gen 1 and Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde, equipped with Dyson’s core filtration and airflow technology to serve as versatile air purifiers for any room.

The Dyson Purifier range automatically detects particle pollution, including dust and pollen (PM2.5, PM10), reporting levels in real-time on the LCD screen. Both purifiers offer a night mode that operates at quieter settings, accompanied by a dimmed display. A sleep timer is programmed to automatically turn off the purifiers after pre-set intervals of one, two, four and eight hours.

The purifiers are whole machine sealed to HEPA H13 standard, removing 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, including allergens and bacteria, while also effectively eliminating up to 99.95% of ultrafine particles, while tackling gases, like Benzene and NO2, and odours with the activated carbon filter.

The Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde is capable of detecting and destroying harmful household pollutant, formaldehyde, which is 500 times smaller than particles the size of 0.1 microns. A catalytic lifetime filter continuously destroys formaldehyde and doesn’t need replacing.

Powered by Dyson Air Multiplier technology, the Dyson Purifier Gen 1 range delivers over 290 litres per second of smooth and powerful airflow, and the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde delivers at 390 litres per second.

Beyond purification and powerful projection, these machines also provide year-round comfort. Like other Dyson Purifiers, the Dyson Purifier Cool Gen 1 and Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde provides cooling during the summer while continuously purifying the air. The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Gen 1 offers thermal comfort during winter months and cool during summer months.

The MyDyson app allows households to monitor air quality, understand the types of pollutants detected, and take steps to reduce exposure. The app also offers alerts that recommend turning the purifier to auto mode during deteriorating outdoor air quality events.
