Logitech has released a solar powered keyboard, which would be great for consumers that like to tap away novels whilst sitting in the noonday sun. According to the press release, this keyboard makes “battery hassles a thing of the past”. Great news for people who have suffered from crippling battery hassles.

The keyboard can be powered by indoor light and will remain charged for three months in darkness. All 26 letters are in their traditional slots, so users who want to type in complete darkness do not need to learn a different touch typing format.

In addition to the 26 letters, there are also punctuation marks, all 10 integers twice and an on/off switch. For users that like functionality, this keyboard has 12 function keys, whilst there’s also Caps Lock, Shift, Control, Tab and that Windows Logo key that brings up the Start Menu. There are no Kenji, Greek or Parseltongue characters.

According to George Saad from Logitech Australia, this keyboard is the exemplar of the latest in keyboard technology, so it’s easily comparable to when colour was first introduced to televisions.

“The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 features everything users have come to love about the Logitech keyboard range, however, the K750 also features the next big innovation in keyboard technology,” Saad said.

“Powered by light, the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard can also work in total darkness for up to three months. This feature, coupled with its PVC-free construction and fully recyclable packaging, helps to minimise its environmental footprint.”

The Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard will be available in December for RRP $149.
