Fisher & Paykel has just announced a new promotion that moves away from the traditional price discounts and cashback offers. It is instead giving AquaSmart customers a 5 year appliance SmartCare Healthcheck valued at $500.

The new offer is available to all customers who purchase and AquaSmart washing machine from 1 July 2009.

“This is an extraordinary value-add for Fisher & Paykel customers. There is nothing like this, the service is as innovative as our products,” said Peter Russel, national marketing manager, Fisher & Paykel.

“SmartCare Healthchecks will be carried out once a year on the appliance by a specially trained Fisher & Paykel technician to ensure the machine is operating at its optimum.”

The SmartCare Healthcheck, consists of a series of diagnostic tests, installation and user checks, to monitor the products state of ‘health’ and identify any issues that could eventuate into a problem.

Russel commented that a lot of problems can be traced back to installation issues or incorrect user behaviour, and therefore identifying these problems early helps customers avoid costly repairs in the future.

“There is not another major white goods appliance brand in Australia that can offer anything remotely like this. As Fisher & Paykel clearly have the most comprehensive professionally structured service network of own technicians it cannot possible be replicated,” he said.

“We carry out checkups on ourselves or our motor vehicles, why not major investments such as household appliances.”

The promotion will also be supported by a radio media campaign in Melbourne running on Nova and Vega radio stations. It will also be giving away an AquaSmart, valued at $1250, to a listener every day.
