The two-day Afterpay Day Sale has kicked off today – Thursday, August 20 – with two new features said to deliver more flexibility for customers.
Among the deals are 15% off Sony Audio, Cygnett and Belkin through Myer, 30% off selected Dyson products and up to 85% on off online and in-store purchases at Shaver Shop, which is also offering free shipping on all orders over $50.
Customers will now have visibility into their estimated spend limits as well as the ability to pay off some, or all, of an outstanding balance ahead of a scheduled payment. This gives them empowerment to manage their budget and cash flow accordingly ahead and during sales, Afterpay head of sales, Rachel Kelly said.
“Additionally, Australians can pay off their purchases in four interest free instalments,” she said.
Buy now pay later (BNPL) services like Afterpay now account for 14% of all online transactions, appealing most to consumers aged between 25 and 34 years old and are less appealing for older consumers, according to a recent BigCommerce State of Ecommerce report.
On average, top online retailers provide their customers with 1.6 BNPL options, the BigCommerce report revealed.
