Selected Harvey Norman, Target and Kmart stores in Tasmania have been forced to temporarily close as the government places further restrictions on businesses in the state’s north west. These retailers can continue to operate online and fulfill home delivery.

The restrictions were put in place from midnight 12 April 2020 for a period of 14 days. Affected areas include Latrobe, Kentish, Devonport, Central Coast, Burnie, Wynyard-Waratah, Circular Head and West Coast. Only essential services such as pharmacies, supermarkets, take-away food, petrol stations, among others, are exempt. Trade supply stores, including Bunnings, are open to trade customers only.

Harvey Norman stores in Burnie and Devonport are temporarily closed, while Launceston, Cambridge Park, Moonah and Hobart stores remain open.

Target stores in Burnie and Devonport are also temporarily closed, with Hobart, Glenorchy, Mowbray and Launceston still open for business.

Kmart stores in Burnie and Devonport have temporarily closed, while Launceston, Rosny Park and New Town stores remain open.

JB Hi-Fi’s three Tasmanian stores in Launceston, Rosny Park and Hobart, as well as The Good Guys store in Moonah are not impacted by the restrictions. Big W stores in Rosny Park, Glenorchy and Kingston are not affected.
