LG Electronics has established response teams both globally and locally to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and enact business continuity plans to help minimise disruption to operations, LG Australia managing director Dan Lim has confirmed.

“At LG Electronics Australia the health and wellbeing of our staff members, customers and suppliers is our highest priority,” he said in a statement shared with Appliance Retailer.

“We have already implemented systems and practices to help reduce the exposure and spread of COVID-19. This includes instructions on maintaining basic hand hygiene, minimising face-to-face meetings and avoiding large group meetings or contact with anyone showing flu-like symptoms, in line with Australian government guidance.

“All LG Electronics Australia staff have been encouraged to practice social distancing in the workplace and minimise direct contact with other staff members, customers and suppliers; all non-business critical travel has been cancelled; staff have been instructed to cancel any meetings with more than 10 people instead replacing these with virtual meetings; visitors to LG Electronics Australia offices has been restricted; teleconferencing and Webex/Skype facilities are in place for staff and customers.

“Staff have been instructed to self-isolate and contact their health care provider if they are feeling unwell. In addition, we are restricting external persons from entering any of our offices if they have returned from mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Singapore, Italy, Germany, France, Iran, Spain and Indonesia in the past 14 days, or if they have potentially been in contact with anyone who has a suspected or confirmed case of the COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

“We thank you for working with us during these unusual circumstances.”
