OneMusic Australia – joint music licensing initiative of APRA AMCOS and PPCA – has adjusted rates for retailers by dropping the base rate and adding a new Silver Lite service – a low cost option designed for retailers using just one device, such as a radio.

The Silver Lite service starts from $127.50 and sits above the Bronze service with prices from $85 and below the Silver service, starting from $136, and the Gold service, starting from $476.

This follows the transition from a two-license system to one-license system in July this year to reduce administration time at sign-up and annual reporting for its customers, providing greater transparency.

There are 25 license schemes to launch across the next financial year and all sectors have a customised scheme. Australia is the second country, behind New Zealand, to bring the separate rights (in the song and in the recording) into one license.

Businesses in some other countries around the world require License Agreements with four separate organisations.
