Miele has recalled its CVA 3650 and CVA 660 coffee machines as an internal power connection may become defective, under extreme circumstances. If this occurs, this could damage the coffee machine and create a fire risk.

Consumers are advised to stop using the coffee machine immediately. Miele will contact all consumers with affected products to arrange a service visit to upgrade the internal power connection free of charge. Consumers may also contact Miele on 1800 332 542 to arrange this appointment.

Commenting on the recall, Miele ANZ operations director Mark Bateson told Appliance Retailer, “As part of Miele’s commitment to quality we regularly carry out testing of appliances to ensure that they always meet Miele’s strict quality guidelines.

“From this testing we have become aware that under extreme circumstances an internal power connection in this coffee machine model could become defective. We have proactively contacted owners by mail (given our business model in Australia we are in the fortunate position of having customer details) and are now phoning them to arrange a free repair visit.

“The affected model is not part of the current coffee machine range and has not been sold in Australia since 2013.”
