The 124th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) took place in Guangzhou, where it showcased products from more than 8,700 companies. The fair included three phases that ran from October 14 to November 4.
China Foreign Trade Centre deputy director general, Xu Bing said that this year’s Canton Fair helped companies achieve global selling and buying through the one-stop platform.
“Phase 1 showcased industrial products with high technological features from premium brands, phase 2 was for gift and housewares while phase 3 introduced consumer products with higher market demand,” he said. “We organized supplier-buyer networking and a Multinationals Sourcing Service to improve buyers’ experience.”
The household electrical appliances exhibition zone included Haier’s latest Crystal washing machines with direct-drive technology, smart dosing and Aquastop. Haier also displayed the T Series 4-door fridge with what was claimed to be the world’s first 1005mm door. Another world first for the category was found on the Haier Langdu fridge that sported an automatic opening door.
A highlight was the Design Awards with 24 jurors including designers, buyers, trade association experts and media, who evaluated 1214 entries to select the winning products that met the criteria of combining market and design value.
Among the winners were a 350ml portable Sport Blender; the Magic Thermal Cooker that not only cooks food in the inner pot but can chill food as well and the Deye home humidifier with a fast clothes drying function.
Taking out the gold award was the Ultrasonic humidifier featuring seven speeds with mist output, automatic humidity control and LED screen. Something completely different was the V9 exercise bike complete with an ergonomic work desk and adjustable seat. The desk can be raised and used as a standing desk when resting from pedaling.
