With bonus smart lightbulb.

The new Amazon Echo Show device is now available for pre-order for an RRP of $349 with a bonus Philips Hue smart lightbulb. Features include a 10-inch HD display, built-in smart home hub and a speaker system that delivers powerful bass and stereo sound.

When users ask Alexa for the weather, to watch a video or pull up the shopping list, the display will show coloured visuals. The screen is complemented by dual, side-firing 2 Neodymium drivers, a passive bass radiator and Dolby processing.

Amazon Alexa senior vice president, Tom Taylor said, “Customers tell us they love the convenience of being able to ask Alexa to show them things. Now we are making the voice-first, visual Echo Show experience better in every way by adding even more experiences—a dynamic and vivid display makes watching videos even more enjoyable, new speakers for music, simple set-up and control of smart home devices, Skype calling to friends and family, and all-new visual features.”

With a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, Echo Show can automatically discover and set-up compatible light bulbs, plugs and switches without the need for additional hubs or apps. Once set up, ask Alexa to turn on the lights or use the touch-screen to turn devices on and off.

A built-in, 5MP camera supports high-definition video calling and is ideal for hands-free calls to friends and family who have an Echo Spot, Echo Show, or the Alexa App. Coming soon, customers can connect with friends and family through support for Skype calling and video calling.

Echo Show will also have an accompanying stand that will allow users to tilt the Echo Show to adjust the viewing and camera angles for $49.95. Both products will begin shipping next month. Pre-orders can be made at retailers including JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks.

Amazon has also introduced all-new Echo Dot (RRP $79) and Echo Plus (RRP $229) devices, as well as a new Echo companion device – the Echo Sub (RRP $199). These new devices will also start shipping next month and can be pre-ordered through JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks.
