Hosts key retail partners.

The co-owner of Miele, Markus Miele (pictured), joined retailers from Queensland and across the country to open the Miele Experience Centre in Brisbane.

Among the retailers in attendance were Katie Page from Harvey Norman and Kay Spencer from the Narta group, as well as Steve Cavalier from the Harvey Norman Bundall store, John Winning Snr and John Winning Jnr from Winning Appliances, Richard Murray from JB Hi-Fi and Terry Smart from The Good Guys.

Miele Australia and New Zealand, Sjaak Brouwer, welcomed guests to the event.

“Opening a new centre is always very special. This is an exceptional location and showcasing the latest Miele appliances in a contemporary lifestyle setting and the first where we can showcase digital displays. This is the best Miele Experience Centre – ever,” Brouwer said.

For Markus Miele, this was the first visit to Australia since he opened the last Queensland Experience Centre on the Gold Coast almost three years ago. Unfortunately his co-proprietor, Reinhard Zinkann was unable to travel to Australia on this occasion despite being named on the plaque to commemorate the opening of the centre.

Miele revealed for the first time that the company has surpassed four billion Euros in turnover for the 12 month period ending 30 June 2018 with the company now employing 20,200 people with 11,200 of these based in Germany.

“This new centre is a clear commitment to Australia,” Markus Miele told guests yesterday evening.

“At the same time a visible promise as we look to the future that Miele means business in this country with high quality products and as a dependable partner. This space where we are now reflects the style of the Miele Experience Centres all across the globe. The standards we expect of our Experience Centres are high – it is the many facets of elegance, convenience, quality and emotional appeal and in each case set in the context and flair of the country – combining the technical progress with charm and personality as well as being a brand ambassador and this centre has done a great job of achieving these goals.”

Miele said that the Brisbane centre joins more than 90 cities around the world in 50 countries including recently opened centres in Portugal, Canada, Croatia and Sweden.

“Miele in Australia began 38 years in 1980 when my father Rudolf Miele and his partner Dr Zinkann founded our very first subsidiary outside Europe in this beautiful country. From then until now, Australia has been one of most important markets having successfully performed as one of the top three markets outside of Germany for many years. Since then our Australian team has demonstrated great commitment and has raised the awareness of the Miele brand in this country.

“This centre lends shape to the brand in a most engaging and promising way – billed as the best of the best – it is an impressive space showcasing the latest innovative Miele appliances and contemporary design and digital technology. Only our Experience Centre in Brisbane offers the latest in bespoke Miele digital technology like interactive digital screens – each of these exclusive technologies is designed to make the selection of Miele appliances as easy and enjoyable as possible. A striking focal point is the centre’s demonstration kitchen on the mezzanine level to experience the appliances in the best possible way and how easy it is to replicate professional results with our appliances.”
