GfK has unveiled key product categories which are expected to deliver a second year of up to 8 per cent growth in the value of the global small appliance category.
GfK global director of small domestic appliances (SDA), Udo Jansen, unveiled the list of emerging products at the recent IFA Press Conference in Rome that did not exist as major market categories just five years ago.
Jansen said the market grew by eight per cent to $US65 billion in 2017 and there will be a minimum of four per cent growth in 2018.
Jansen examined the categories have emerged over the last five years in the small domestic appliances to deliver the consistent year on year growth. The two fastest growing categories were handstick rechargeable vacuum cleaners and robot vacuum cleaners, followed by hot air fryers, food preparation and cooking appliances as well as juicing, hair removal, dental care, window cleaners and groomers.
