For 2018 TVs and refrigerators.

Consumers will soon be able to control all of their connected devices from one single app when Samsung introduces the SmartThings app to its 2018 Smart TV line-up and next-generation Family Hub refrigerator.

Samsung’s TVs will become a dashboard for users to manage connected devices and will seamlessly sync multiple devices to easily share content and notifications. The next-generation Family Hub refrigerator Four Door Flex will also integrate the SmartThings app for consumers to manage connected devices from its 21.5 inch display. New local partners will join the Family Hub platform in the coming months, after the refrigerator was initially launched with the Woolworths grocery app.

Samsung Electronics Australia director of home appliances, Jeremy Senior said, “Our simplicity and connectivity story is really strong and prevalent among our customers and retail partners. At CES, we talked a lot about making experiences simpler so we are excited by the innovation of Bixby voice control, as well as our SmartThings app and SmartThings cloud. This means we can bring all of our devices, as well as other manufacturers’ devices, together to work across the platform.”

Samsung Electronics is a member of the Open Connectivity Foundation, which allows companies to simplify and deliver a smart home experience.
