Latest evolution in fast, reliable storage.
The new Samsung Portable SSD T5 sets the standard for performance in external memory products. The T5 delivers super-fast transfer speeds with encrypted data security in a compact and durable design, making it easier than ever for consumers to back-up and access their most valuable data anywhere, at any time. The T5 also offers compatibility with both PCs and Macs, select Android smartphones and tablets and most devices using USB Type-C and Type-A.
A recent survey commissioned by Samsung has found that over half (60%) of Australians have lost content due to not backing-up their data, and 56% don’t perform a monthly back-up. Personal photos and memories are the most common files to lose (42%), followed by media files (34%).
The data also revealed that the vast majority of Australians trust physical storage devices, and 90% see reliability as the most important factor when choosing how to back-up their data.
Samsung Electronics Australia director of enterprise and small medium business, Paul Sharpe said, “Samsung has been pushing the envelope of possibility in portable storage and solid-state drives for years, and the Portable SSD T5 continues our legacy of leadership and innovation. We know Australians are interested in securing their data on a physical device, but see speed and time it takes to complete the back-up as a barrier.
“We are confident that the T5 offers a great solution for external storage, including faster transfer speeds from previous Samsung portable SSD solutions and a solid design that is lightweight and conveniently pocket-sized. It is the ideal portable storage product for consumers and professionals in search of a fast, durable and secure device.”
Delivering transfer speeds of up to 540 MB per second (depending on host configuration) up to 4.9 times faster (based on internal test results) than many external HDD products, the new T5 caters to business professionals, photographers, videographers, creatives and heavy content users to give instant, easy access to data.
The T5 is also a great addition to the home, allowing Australians to easily store personal memories and rich, 4k content such as video and games. The T5 is smaller than an average business card at 74 x 57.3 x 10.5 millimeters and incredibly lightweight from 51 grams. The aluminum exterior comes in Deep Black (1TB and 2TB models) and Alluring Blue (250GB and 500GB models)
A mobile app is also available for Android smartphones and tablets for even further convenience. In addition, the T5 includes two connection cables – USB-C to C and USB-C to A – for enhanced compatibility across numerous devices.
The T5 comes with a three-year limited warranty and is available now from Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks, with an RRP starting at $199 for the 250GB model.
