Panasonic is growing its small appliance range with the launch of two new juicers, available this month, and two new stick blenders, launching in October.

All four new products are supported by the newly launched Ideas Kitchen, a website of recipes, features and tips to help consumers make the most of the Panasonic’s cooking appliances. The brand has enlisted nutritionist and physiotherapist, Katrina Loop, to provide the healthy-living inspired content including ‘food hacks’ — cooking hints designed to save time in the kitchen.

Bespoke recipes go hand in hand with healthy craze driving small appliance purchases: Breville has got its Food Thinkers site and Kambrook has its popular Blitz to Go recipes.

Belinda Toner, product marketing manager, small appliances, Panasonic Australia, said the Ideas Kitchen is trying to build a community around the whole small appliance segment and recipes will later be expanded to include the brands existing small kitchen appliances, its bread makers and rice cookers.

“Panasonic is committed to making life easier through our range of innovative, functional and convenient home appliances. With the ideas kitchen, and our latest products, Australians can create quick, fresh and healthy meals, to suit their family and lifestyle,” she said.

The expansion into the small appliance segment is building on Panasonic’s heritage in the kitchen with its microwaves and refrigerators.

The main messages around the new juicers is that they are easy to clean and full of little features designed to make life easier.

The new models (MJ-DJ01 RRP $249 and MJ-SJ01KST RRP $199) come in black and stainless steel and have a 75 millimetre feeder tube wide enough to fit whole pieces of fruit and vegetables to reduce time spent chopping.

Stainless steel blades and a fine mesh filter maximise juice extraction, removing more pulp during filtration as well as being easier to clean. Panasonic said the juicers have an impressive extraction rate: “Both models are able to extract enough liquid from a single orange and tomato to represent 69.5 per cent and 78.8 per cent of their total weight respectively.”

MJ-SJ01KST Swivel
The spout can swivel 120 degrees

The spout can be rotated 120 degrees around the machine meaning it can be repositioned to fill a line of glasses and it can also be flipped up parallel to a bench to stop drips.

The new Stick Blenders (MX-SS1BST RRP $89 and MX-GS1WST RRP $69) have a powerful 600-watt motor for quick, efficient blending from smoothies to soups. Available in white and black variants, both designs feature two straight and two blending blades, and a stainless steel shaft.

“These stylish new additions to our small kitchen appliances range make it easy to whip up a range of treats from that post-workout smoothie to hollandaise sauce. We’ve developed a suite of new smoothie recipes to accompany the new models, for our customers to enjoy,” Toner said.
