Sony Australia has given its Chatswood kiosk a football-flavoured facelift in preparation for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Sony is a FIFA partner and is therefore in a position to fully leverage World Cup motifs and branding to market its products to consumers.

Located on Level 4 of the Chatswood Westfield complex, Sony’s experiential zone will run from today (19 May 2014) through 1 June 2014, which is a bit off  considering the World Cup doesn’t kick off until 12 June 2014.

On 22 May 2014, the zone will welcome four provisional Socceroos World Cup squad members, Mark Milligan, James Holland, Jason Davidson and Adam Sarota, who will meet fans, pose for photos and sign autographs between 4pm and 5pm.

“During this time, up to 100 customers will be able to go into the experiential space and receive replica glider Brazuca balls as well as a CD of Samantha Jade’s official Socceroos anthem, Up,” Sony said.

“We’re very excited to show off the refurbished kiosk and give our customers the opportunity to experience the best of Sony with this promotion,” said Jeremy Senior, general manager of consumer sales, Sony Australia. “The lead up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is a key purchase period for TVs and we are happy to be able to offer our customers this great deal at this time.

“The experiential zone also provides a fantastic opportunity to further engage consumers during this period.”
