De’Longhi channelled some Greenwich Village chic for the launch of its Mother’s Day line-up today, taking to a fashionable warehouse-style bar in Sydney’s inner city to show off two new coffee machines and a new range of breakfast appliances.

The location matched the aesthetic of the new products on display, with stylish neutrals, clean lines and high-end design the order of the day. The event saw the unveiling of the brand’s new premium fully automatic coffee machine, known as the Eletta, the new Lattissima Pro premium Nespresso machine (which sees De’Longhi pairing with Nespresso as exclusive machine partner) and the retro-futurist Scultura breakfast range.

At the launch, De’Longhi Australia CEO Paolo Albertoni proudly showed off the brand’s “fantastic new products” saying that, despite the advanced features on the new products (especially apparent on the two high-end coffee machines) the brand had stayed true to the design ethos that “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.

“This range truly represents the spirit, essence and core values of De’Longhi, which are innovation, quality design, Italian heritage and entrepreneurship,” he said. “They also represent our promise to our main consumer, which is that, through our product, we want to turn their every day into something special.

“These products also represent the promise that we want to keep to ourselves, that we want to be better every day.”

Guests were shown through the full range to demonstrate the ways “De’Longhi has surpassed itself” with design. From the fully automated milk solution on the Eletta coffee machine and it’s “object of desire” design, through to the advanced features and ease-of-use of the Nespresso Lattissima Pro, De’Longhi and Nespresso’s team of baristas (with help from professionals from the Barista Basics ‘Coffee Academy’) showed off the features and benefits of the new coffee machines.

Over at the Scultura stand it was all about design, with the space-aged ridged design of the appliances called out for attention, along with the stylish colours (Zinc White, Bronze Beige, Steel Grey and Carbon Black, for those playing at home). The appliances were accompanied by a stylish point-of-sale brochure calling out the design elements, with plenty of shots of inner-city warehouse apartments and urban living spaces splashed across the pages. After a morning spent at the ultra-cool launch at Woolloomooloo’s funkiest garage/bar/urban restaurant/loft, we began to see where they got their inspiration…
