Saturday 28 September 2013 will see the Hawthorn Football Club (the Hawks) take on the Fremantle Football Club (the Dockers) to claim the 2013 AFL Premiership (the Flag).

The match starts at 2:30pm local time at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (the MCG) and is being broadcast live on Channel Seven in SD nationwide. The first HD replay of the match is on at 6:30pm local time on Fox Footy (Foxtel channel 504).

For those fans in the West excited to see Fremantle contest its first Grand Final, that’s 12:30pm for the opening bounce, while it’s 2pm in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

This weekend is particularly special for Kitchen HQ co-founder and industry legend Rick Hart, who has been a passionate supporter of the Fremantle Football Club and former club president.

While this game is Fremantle’s first visit to the Big Dance, Hawthorn is heading into its 17th Grand Final, having won 10 and lost 6 previously, including last year’s 10-point defeat to the Sydney Swans Football Club (the Swans).

Unlike next weekend’s NRL Grand Final, which is played at a ridiculous time that suits nobody, the AFL Grand Final is played at a great time for retailers to showcase the latest and greatest OLED and Ultra HD panels.

Although the Southern and Western states will be at home or out with friends watching the match, there is minimal interest in New South Wales and Queensland, meaning customers will still be out and about and have the potential to be wowed by the latest technology.

Patrick’s Tip:

Fremantle Dockers by 2 points.
