Dutch brand Philips and Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren teamed up at IFA to debut the M1X-DJ sound system – a real eye and ear turner!

Not content to simply release another portable audio system, Philips is taking its style and technology to another level with this unit, which blurrs the lines between a lean back experience and an active immersion into your favourite tunes.

Here's Armin plugging the M1X-DJ, live from the Philips stand in Berlin:

“Fans often ask me what equipment they should buy when they want to start mixing themselves,” the DJ said. “A lot of kit can be expensive, so with the M1X I wanted to create something that’s accessible for everybody. The other great thing about the M1X is that you can play it wherever you want, whether that’s the beach, the park or your street: it’s the ghettoblaster reinvented for today.”

The M1X-DJ is optimised for new Apple products, with a Lightning connector for iPads, iPhones and iPods; and Bluetooth for wireless playback. It is hitting European markets for 399 euro, which is around AU $575.
