Dyson has announced the launch of two new additions to its floorcare line-up, featuring new cyclonic technology, as well as an updated version of its Hot + Cool air multiplying fan heater. The latter product joins the market as retailers prepare to cycle out the last of their summer stock and bring in new products for the winter heating season.
In floorcare, Dyson has launched a new bagless barrel vacuum, the DC47 Multifloor Barrel, and a bagless upright model, the DC50 Multifloor Upright — both of which feature Dyson’s proprietary 2 Tier Radial cyclone technology.

Explaining the technology was Dyson communications manager, Erica Galea.
“The introduction of these products sees the launch of the next generation cyclone technology,” said Galea. “Two Tier Radial cyclone technology is a double stacked cyclone pack designed with 32 small cyclones to further improve dust separation and efficiency, resulting in more effective cleaning.”
The DC47 Barrel features a ball design for manoeuvrability and a turbine head with carbon fibre brushes, designed to clean both hard floors and carpets. The DC50 Upright also features a carbon fibre brush bar as well as a ball design and direct drive motor in the cleaner head that gives it a lower profile for cleaning under furniture.
In the seasonal category, Dyson has boosted its range of air multiplier fans with a new Hot + Cool bladeless heater fan, the AM05.
Similar to its predecessor, the AM04, the new Hot + Cool features a bladeless design that multiplies air through a large bladeless loop to offer a steady air flow without buffeting. The AM05 functions as a fan in summer, as well as a heater in winter thanks to special ceramic stones inside the device that heat air as it passes through.
The AM05 also features a new brushless motor that increases the output of its predecessor by 33 per cent.
The AM05 Hot + Cool bladeless heater fan will be available from 1 April 2013 for RRP $599 and will be sold in four colours: nickel/nickel, black/nickel, white/silver and iron/blue. Both floorcare products are available as of 1 March 2013, with the DC47 Multifloor Barrel retailing for RRP $799 and the DC50 Multifloor Upright for RRP $749.
