Family retailer Newtons says ‘thanks’ to its suppliers with Christmas party

By Patrick Avenell

Family-owned Brisbane appliance retailer Newtons recently hosted a Christmas party for its supplier partners. The store, which will be celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2013, wanted to thanks its business partners for their support during 2012, according to general manager Brian Watson.

"There were about 60 guests from our business suppliers in attendance on the evening – it shows the level of support from our suppliers," Watson said. "We gave out Christmas gifts and we had a number of raffles during the evening.

"A good time was had by everyone: I received around 20 emails following the event saying how much the guests enjoyed the evening and to catch up with everyone."

Watson said guests from Sampford IXL, Miele, AEG, VZug and Andi-Co, among others, attended the parties.

Sampford IXL national sales manager Peter Breen with Linda Misso from Electrical Distributions Australia.

Guests enjoyed a beer while admiring the latest in rangehoods and dishwashers.

Watson raffled off Christmas hampers to guests.

The desks that normally processed big transactions were empty during the festivities.
