No more hairy times ahead for industry legend Frank Seeley, founder and executive chairman of Seeley International, with the enigmatic inventor and business pledging to shave his beard to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

With the support of employees, customers and business partners, Seeley has raised almost $10,000 – which was the benchmark he set to go under the knife.

For those who think the bar was set too high, consider this: Frank Seeley has not shaved in 40 years!

“It’s been 40 years since my wife, Kathy, has seen me without a beard, so my first step was to make sure she agreed,” Seeley said.

“We decided it was only worth doing if Seeley International could raise an appropriately large amount of money to support the Leukaemia Foundation, so we set the bar high, at $10,000.

“I’m proud to say that we are nearly there, with just a few days to go.

“That’s not a surprise to me, as our dealers, suppliers, staff and other friends are very generous – and very keen to see me without my beard – but I’m delighted to know that we are able to help out such a fantastic cause.”

Current.com.au looks forward to publishing an image of a clean shaven Frank Seeley – in the meantime, here is one last look at that marvellous beard:
